I decided to combine the artist with the Jewish woman in me to create
a series of personal holiday and Shabbat
paintings.
This endeavor is a desire to record a personal, visual diary of
shared times, using Judaica objects that have been handed down generation
to generation. The background of the paintings show the emotional
impact of these events.
While this particular group of paintings reflect a small segment
of my work, they reflect a large segment of my life.
As the cycle of the Jewish year unfolds, I invite you to sit at
our table, join in the holiday blessings, come into our Sukkah,
participate in all the observances with our family.
In this portfolio are the paintings that have been made into limited
edition lithographs, all hand-signed and numbered. These lithographs
have been given as gifts of art for many special occasions.
Some of the paintings are re-created on canvas, using a a very
fine method, called Giclee. Each
painting is custom made as orders are received. All giclee re-creations
are hand-signed and numbered. They arrive ready to hang. I will
apply some hand painting to the canvas, to enhance the image and
add to its individuality. (more about
the giclee process)
The work in this Judaica collection series
will continue.
