Dance paintings, inspired by Alvin Ailey’s ballet “Revelations”. It illustrates the history, traditions, faith, and beliefs of the African American culture while portraying the journey from slavery to freedom through dance, spirituals, gospels, and blues music. In this painting women wear long yellow dresses and matching hats and carry fans. They are getting ready for church, and it’s going to be a hot day.
