Description
When I was about eight years old, on Mother’s Day, I walked back and forth in front of Reznik’s with a tray hanging from my neck, filled with red and white crepe paper carnations. I was told to say, “Red if your mother is living, white if your mother is dead.” I would send the buyers into the store to pay for their flowers. Sam Reznik & Sons was a small store on Logan Street, started by my paternal grandfather Sam Reznik, who came from Russia in 1905.
