Giclee Process
Giclee (Zhee-Clay) Print artwork made using a specialized ink spray process (Giclee in French for “to spray”). The Giclee print is unmatched in it’s exquisite color and razor-sharp details, and has quickly become the new print standard for museums, galleries, publishers, and artists. First captured digitally and then refined by the artist and master printer through a series of proofs to ensure the color and clarity, the Giclee print is the closest possible reproduction of an original artwork afforded by technology. Both the ink and canvas onto which the image is transferred offer up to 70-year light-fastness and UV-resistance under proper storing conditions.
These will be hand-signed and numbered, and each painting will be a limited edition.
Each signed, numbered Giclee on canvas will be created individually at the time of order with the next lowest available edition number. The canvas is “gallery” wrapped over a wooden stretcher, and it arrives ready to hang. The images are UV coated, and can be cleaned with dry or lightly damp cloth. The sides are painted gray as in the original paintings. The artist will apply some hand painting to the canvas, to enhance the image and add to its individuality .
